SMTP configuration using Google account.

To configure SMTP using your Gmail account, please follow the steps below to securely generate and use an app-specific password:
Step 1: Access Google Account Security Settings
Go to your navigate to Google Account settings “Security” section. You can also use the search bar within your account settings to quickly locate the required options. Refer to the video below for guidance if needed.
Step 2 : Enable 2-Step Verification
Ensure that 2-Step Verification is enabled for your account as this is mandatory for generating an app password. If it is not already enabled, you can activate it from the Security settings. Additionally, make sure to configure at least one second-step verification method (such as phone prompt, SMS, or authenticator app) for proper functionality.

Step 3: Generate an App Password
Within the 2-Step Verification section scroll down and select “App passwords.” If you are unable to locate this option use the search bar for quick access.
Click on “App passwords”
Enter an app name (E.g. GST Pro)
Click “Create”
A 16-character app-specific password will be generated.


Step 4: Configure SMTP Settings in GST Pro
Use the generated app password in your SMTP configuration. Enter the following details:
Host: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Username: Your full Gmail address.
Password: The 16-character app-specific password generated above.
From Email: Can be the same as your Gmail address or another email configured within your Gmail account.
Once completed your Gmail SMTP setup will be securely configured enabling reliable and automated email delivery through GST Pro.
