Collect GST Number from Checkout Page

This guide will help you configure your Shopify store to collect GST Number and Company Name directly from the checkout page ensuring accurate B2B invoicing. Once set up the entered details will automatically reflect on GST invoices streamlining your compliance process.
GST Pro enables GST data collection at checkout by utilizing Shopify’s company field.

Customers can enter both their Company Name and GST Number in a single field which is then captured and reflected in invoices.

Step 1: Enable GST Collection in GST Pro

• Open GST Pro.

• Navigate to Customer → Collect GST Number.

• Select Checkout Page as the preferred method.

  Step 2: Enable Company Field in Shopify Checkout
  

• Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout and Accounts

• Set the Company Name field to Optional
  

This ensures the field is visible to customers during checkout.

Step 3: Customize Field Label

• Navigate to Online Store → Themes → Edit Default Theme Content

• Go to Checkout & System → Checkout Contact

• Update the Optional Company Label to: “Company and GST Number (Optional)”

• Click Save
  

This clearly instructs customers to enter both details in a single field.

How It Works

Customers will enter their Company Name and GST Number together in the modified field during checkout. GST Pro captures this information and automatically includes it in GST invoices, ensuring accurate B2B documentation.
